Cheap and lightweight insurance I hardly ever use these and I usually end up keeping all of them past their expiration but I always take them with me on outdoors adventures and I like to have them around. They have saved me when my filter broke on a backpacking trip. It’s those unforeseen circumstances and how happy I was that I had these that makes all those wasted Aquatabs worthwhile. Definitely not my first choice for making water safe but when you really need them, and who knows when that will be, chlorine never tastes so good.

Vital for my long-distance hikes. I swear by these in the woods. I can’t always boil my water. I can always toss in a tab, and meanwhile it works. Personally I find there to be a slight chlorine taste, but I bring little flavor packets if it becomes bothersome. Honesty I’d rather deal with the taste – than to deal with an illness.
