Great filter – after a lot of work The filter is great. The steel containers are sturdy and the filter really does clean the water better than any other system I have used. But, I had a lot of problems with the rubber smell at first (like many other reviewers). The issue is the rubber stopper and washers they include with the system. Berkey is a scam The company that manufactures the Berkey filter is really scammy. Despite being so popular and having been around for so long, they are not NSF certified (which is a basic certification requiring independent analysis that your filter indeed does what it claims it does and doesn’t add anything to the water). A Frustration To Use This didn’t meet expectations. It was purchased for a newly-acquired family cabin along the Canadian border in northern MN for summer use by members of our family.
