This is what you need when the water is bad Take with on a camping trip, or wherever you’re going. I’m putting mine into my car emergency bag. I did read the instructions prior to putting this in my car; they are a bit complicated, so you’ll want to accustom yourself to how it’s used before you actually need to use it. There is a water bladder included for your nasty water, so you will definitely want to carry a canteen or something similar to put your clean water in if you can. I have NOT run water through this yet, because I want to save it for when I truly need it…plus, when you start using these straws and then stop, you can get mold growth inside them if you’re not using them on a regular basis. This is a good price for an emergency drinking straw, and I can’t say enough about making certain that you’ve got a good, clean source of water if your pipes freeze, or if the electricity goes off, or if something else happens! Shelter, water, food….in that order. Shelter is usually not a huge problem…but water? You don’t…

Very cool device! I got this product to keep around in case of emergencies. I’ve tested it out by attaching it to my sink and the water tasted great. Normally the tap water in my area tastes like it came straight out of a swimming pool, so this will serve really well as temporary backup when we run out bottled water we use for drinking and cooking (b/c our tap water is so gross it even makes food taste like chlorine!) and can’t get to the store quite yet. Plus, you can never be too prepared. I will likely order at least one more of these so I can keep one in my car in case of emergencies as well. It came in perfect condition and very detailed and easy-to-understand instructions. From my understanding, you can flush the filter out to clean it and it can be reused for quite some time, if not indefinitely, though I’m not 100% clear on that.

Fresh water in a jiffy I have not used this filtration device because I bought it as a gift for my grown son. He has a a fascination with survival skills and preparing for a disaster. Not a bad thing to be prepared for I guess. This can be used to filter water from any source, and can be filtered and consumed quite a few different ways. I am interested in seeing my son drink water out of a pond or mud puddle to see just how clean the water is and how it tastes after it is filtered. It supposedly filters up to 1000 gallons which is a lot for a personal use device.
