Hot Water Out Put Warning:The water in the chamber of this equipment can be very hot(Approx 140F)during an extended periods of no water flowing.It’s recommended to open the faucet until the hot water has been purged from your chamber.Keep your body away from the faucet during this time.
To eliminate this condition,a temperature management valve can be installed at the outlet of your UV system.

Pre-treatment:
Water quality is extremely important for the optimum performance of your UV system. The following levels are recommended for installation:
Iron < 0.3 ppm (0.3 mg/L)
Hardness< 7 gpg (120 mg/L)
Turbidity < 1 NTU
Manganese < 0.05 ppm (0.05 mg/L)
Tannins < 0.1 ppm (0.1 mg/L)
UV Transmittance> 75%
Maintenance:
Clean the quartz sleeve every 6-12 months, replace every 24 months. Replace UV lamp every 12 months to keep best sterilization performance.

WARNING (but still would buy/recommend so far) I haven’t installed this yet but wanted to post a WARNING to buyers!Because I wasn’t going to be able to install this right away, I figured I should test the bulbs/power supply to make sure they worked so I plugged them in on my work bench. The 1st bulb lit right up (no flickering) and was completely bright from end to end within a few seconds. The second bulb flickered initially and then slowly started to brighten from the ends inward with about a 3″ section that took well over a minute to light up (wasnt timing exactly). Now here is the WARNING, these bulbs are apparently VERY STRONG and while they don’t seem overly bright & I only had them exposed on my work bench for a few minutes total, it was enough time to burn my eyes. The short exposure wasn’t initially uncomfortable at all & It wasn’t until bed time that my eyes started to burn very badly. It has taken days to heal & I hope nobody else suffers similar situation.I am still rating this product with 5 stars…
Highly surprised and super thankful I took the chance. Great quality and awesome packing job. Well, this all started about 3 weeks ago when all of a sudden my wife started getting sick. And then she started to lose her balance. We were thinking that she had a inner ear infection. Well a few days later I went to get a drink from the sink and smelled mold. I’m like what the??? We have been at this property (well water) for over 5 years, and it’s always been the very best water in the entire area (admitted by my neighbors). So when I realized we had mold in our well I was shocked. We had just replaced all the plumbing including the pressure switch and pressure tank. So everything was new. So I immediately got on Amazon and started looking for a UV sterilizer. There are a lot to choose from here and most are in the $250-$400 range. I was not ready to pay this much for a UV unit and found this one with no reviews. I was very leery and put it in my list and kept looking. Very satisfied with this purchase Very satisfied with this purchase, packaging was insane I’m sure you could throw the box off a truck and nothing would break. Couple of comments to ensure your install is a success from the start: Install the supplied silicone O-ring onto the quartz “test tube” that separates the water from the UV light and cover the outside portion of the O-ring with a pipe dope, such as Great White (outside portion being the side of the o-ring that faces the end cap), you can pick that up at the big-box store or on Amazon. Make sure to put the pipe dope on the outside of the O-ring so that it does not enter the tube and contact the clean water. Also always use Teflon tape and pipe dope on the threaded portion, applying each to the male ends of the threads only. In my case, I used Mega tape and Great White pipe joint compound. Do yourself a favor and install everything and let water run through it for at least 1 day to ensure no leaks, then you can install the UV bulb, just in case there is a…
