A serious filter in a serious environment. I needed something that would weed out viruses as well as debris while I was traveling and working in Peru. The thought of being able to drink from any water source sounded like a pipe dream, until now.First off, I decided to go with this filter based off my experience with their support staff. I asked some pretty solid questions since I wanted to make sure (like 100% sure) that this would work for me as it’s going to be directly pumping into my innards and all. I didn’t just want a filter, I wanted something that would purify the water from viruses and guarantee as much as possible that I wouldn’t be ingesting any more baddies. I heard back the same day (just an hour or so later actually) from their support team and we passed a volley of emails across which helped answer not only my questions but also gave me a lot of new insights about the nature of the stomach issues I had experienced previously while in Peru. They definitely know their stuff.More…
This filter transformed “dirty” wildlife-inhabited pond water into clean, potable water. This filter works as advertised – at least as well as filtering out all coliform bacteria. I personally tested this filter with water pumped from an irrigation pond/ hazard at the local golf course. This pond had surrounding trees and grasses inhabited by birds and other critters. I made the assumption that the water contained coliform bacteria but not other hazardous substances since the water contained numerous pollywogs and “water skeeters”. It required 50 strokes to fill a pint-sized plastic water bottle. I purchased a “PurTest Home Water Analysis” kit from Amazon and tested this “purified” water. The test results included a negative or zero response on the following: Chlorine, Copper, Iron, Lead, Nitrites, pesticides, and, no coliform bacteria. This filter transformed “dirty” wildlife-inhabited pond water into clean, potable water. I didn’t test the pond water to determine content because the Question to be answered was: Using this…
Definitely worth the money! So unless this malfunctions soon this was worth the buy. Anyone complaining just return it for another one and quit whining thank you. I believe the product is life time. The pump doesnt come close to acting up unless you man handle it. I was also able to filter out 1 gallon in less than 10mins, not 45 mins. That would be a bit ridiculous. Worst part was my knees were killing me, balancing on that tree. I have only used it a few times but it was worth it. I first tried it out in Arizona in one of those showy neighborhood fountains in 110degree weather. Pictures show how nasty the water was. They do pump the fountain full of chemicals, garbage was floating around due to the storm, and the water was green. The second one was in a less rural area out in the woods in an animal infested pond. It was a creek but hey its Arizona. Creeks and rivers don’t last long. The water was clear and tasted great. I didnt even need the liquid Gatorade additive. Something you’d need for havasupai…
