Truly as good as you can get for the price. I’m rating this 5 stars because the unit is as good as you could get for the money. Granted, for more money you could have more expensive fittings, etc, but they are really not necessary unless you are going to be constantly moving and reassembling.This is my 3rd unit for the house one in downstairs kitchen and one upstairs as well, replacing a 12-year old system that’s never caused a problem other than a leak in the UV two weeks ago. Sure I could have replaced just the UV but hey it’s time for a complete new system.Complaints about the clarity of the instructions are unfounded as far as I’m concerned. I was replacing a similar unit (different brand) but there were no parts of the old system re-used other than the metal fitting on the cold water pipe, which still required the new compression fitting. The only difficulty with the instructions was the slightly upgraded output faucet which was not covered, but easy to figure out the difference and…
Be aware of maintenance requirements⦠First of all, a disclaimer. I havenât had this system running, so I canât speak of how well it performs. But due to what I read in the manual when I received it, I decided not to install this system and returned it. The maintenance sounds quite involved and time-consuming.I have a Pelican brand RO filter elsewhere in my house that requires only the changeout of two different filter cartridges periodically (and flushing system afterwards). The Express Water unit, in addition to replacement of all the filters, requires a periodic extensive cleaning process that apparently involves draining and dismantling the entire thing, cleaning âinternal housing areasâ with soap and water, and then running disinfectant through various parts. (Iâm not sure what kind of disinfectant; the manual doesnât give any information.) It sounded pretty laborious, and Iâm not even sure I could get access to do this kind of cleaning in the cramped space where it would have been installed…
