Great, probably, if your unit does not leak catastrophically. I’m a long time Katadyn advocate, having used the HikerPro on expedition in SE Asian rainforests for years. Owing to some damage sustained through long term usage I decided to replace my HikerPro with the Vario for its greater throughput. The unit is solidly built, but on usage proved to be problematic for me. Best filter Iâve used For the past 11 years I have spent 8 days a year hiking/camping with buddies. I have gone through numerous pumps and this is my favorite. The msr mini is more durable and the filter lasts a lot longer but it pumps super slow. This baby can fill my water bottle really fast. Major design flaws endanger your health This purifier worked great when it was brand new. After a few seasons of field use, the o-rings started to fail. You might think this is a minor maintenance issue but it’s not. First, there are 7 o-rings and it’s not obvious which has given out.
