These filters and systems can also be used at the office. The Valve-in-head Whole House Water Filtration System features an easy-glide by-pass valve built-in to the housing head. This allows you to replace cartridges without shutting off the water main. The clear housing lets you monitor filter life. It includes a DuPont 800 series cartridge which reduces sediment like rust and silt particles which improves tap and bath water. It is a universal system which makes it easy to upgrade filtration with higher performing DuPont water filters. The filter life is 15,000 gallons of water and the maximum filtered water flow is 5 gallons per minute. It has 3/4-inch inlets and outlets. The system has a three year limited warranty. It includes the filter head with housing, an 800 series DuPont cartridge and a tank wrench. Tools needed for installation are a Phillips screwdriver, adjustable wrench and a pipe cutter or hacksaw. It is tested and certified by the Water Quality Association against NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material requirements and structural integrity.

Beware of this product, and take my advise if you want to do the work only once. To every one who purchases this filter unit. The threaded openings are too big. I purchased 2 and installed them. All 4 openings leaked. I uninstalled and used both Teflon tape and pipe dope on the second install. I made 8 wraps with the tape and applied pipe dope over the tape. That kept it from leaking any further. These are good units, but the design flaw has to be corrected, or they’ll end up with a terrible reputation. Poor quality I had the plumber install this during new home construction, he had a lot of trouble getting it to not leak..he said it was junk and I agree. He finally got it to stop leaking after several attempts and a lot of hourly time, the valve in head is supposed to let you change filters without turning the water off…I have tried to get the valve to turn and it is stuck..afraid to force it since it is plastic so I have to shut water off every time. I would not recommend it due to poor quality.
If you mount this filter with the recommended bracket, it will leak. I first mounted this filter with the recommended bracket and it leaked exactly as the other reviewers stated. The solution for me was to secure the pipe to the wall with some âZâ brackets and metals clamps instead. Despite having the built in bypass I added a few valves in line just in case It leaked after the second attempt. Iâm happy to report, so far so good.
